    Assessment of the 2019 Business Plans and Budgets of the Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KIC). Reading and analysing the background information (the 2019 Business Plan, the Budget and the briefing material). Participating in the expert briefing(s) (meeting(s) and webcast briefing(s). Participating in evaluation meeting, on-site visit and interviews, and drafting and submitting the reports for the evaluated Business Plans and Budget. This engagement has been delivered by Matt Kuppers in capacity of an External Entrepreneurship Expert to the EIT.


    STARTUP CATAPULT LONDON 2018

    In support of Advantage Austria, the commercial section of the Austrian Embassy London, we provide support on planning, organising, managing, and delivering Startup Catapult London 2018. During the programme, eight Austrian scale-ups will meet London-based investors, experts, and entrepreneurs to network with and pitch to.

    The Austrian entrepreneurs will partake in workshops about team building, scaling a business internationally, legal, fundraising, financial modelling in order to take their business to the next level. The programme will culminate in a final pitching event where the entrepreneurs will pitch to London-based representatives of venture capital firms. The measure is building a bridge between the Austrian and the London ecosystem.

    Spark Accelerator Mostar

    SPARK ACCELRATOR CONSULTING PROJECT Bosnia & Herzegovina

    Startup Manufactory developed and delivered a management training programme for the Spark Accelerator in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The assignment was delivered within the framework of the Swiss Entrepreneurship Program (Swiss EP) including:

  • Mentored and built the capacities of the accelerator management to restructure its programmes and further improved training modules for startups
  • Shared knowledge and expertise in managing tailor-made workshops and to share impressions about the UK startup ecosystem and Startup Europe
  • Developed and delivered startup workshops with a focus on pitch training, brand building, marketing, route-to-market, product development, and fundraising from investors
  • Trained the accelerator management team how to build an investor network locally and on the investment process step-by-step
  • Trained the accelerator management team how to take the accelerator international and how to develop international business development strategies
  • Building a bridge between the Bosnian & Herzegovinian startup ecosystem and the London startup eocsystem


  • STARTUP BALKAN – LONDON CHALLENGE

    In collaboration with Startup Slovenia, Center for European Perspective (CEP), and PODIM, Startup Manufactory hosted a delegation from Startup Slovenia in London. This included the top three winning startups of the Slovenian PODIM startup challenge. We organised a London ecosystem tour with our London-based partners such as the Slovenian Embassy, the Czech Embassy, Wayra, Startupbootcamp, Techstars, Google Campus, and Here East. The Slovenian and Bosnian entrepreneurs were able to network, connect, and establish relationships with the London startup ecosystem. The visit also built a bridge between London and the Western Balkans as part of the proposed accession to EU member state status of the region.

    HORIZON 2020 SME INSTRUMENT

    As part of the Horizon 2020 programme, the SME Instrument will invest almost € 3 billion in 7500 projects by 2020 in highly innovative small and medium-sized businesses. The SME Instrument is now part of the European Innovation Council (EIC) pilot that supports top-class innovators, entrepreneurs, small companies and scientists with funding opportunities and acceleration services. The main focus of the EIC pilot is on radical, market-creating innovations to improve productivity and international competitiveness and generate new jobs and higher standards of living. Letitia Seglah was engaged as an Independant Expert to monitor progress & impact KPIs of the call H2020-EIC-SMEINST-2018-2020. Click here for more details.

    STARTUP EUROPE FOR GROWTH AND INNOVATION RADAR

    Matt Kuppers was invited as an Independant Expert to particiapte in the assessment and evaluation of €12 Million of grant proposals submitted to the ICT-32-2017 call “Startup Europe for Growth and Innovation Radar”. The call aims to help established startups and prospective tech entrepreneurs to achieve market success, and raise broader awareness of high potential innovators in Europe with specific targeted actions for maturing innovation excellence in EU-funded ICT projects.     DIGISTART – SUPPORT SYSTEMS FOR DIGITAL STARTUPS

    The project DIGISTART (Support Ecosystems for Digital Startups) is an EU funded research project in the area of startup ecosystems. The project aims to support European-Wide digital ecosystems through a set of coordinated activities targeting Lisbon (led by Prof Aneesh Zutshi) and Malmo (led by Micael Gustafsson). It also aims to harness the capabilities of the largest European online platform for startups and web entrepreneurs: F6S, for providing online support to startups.     STARTUP EUROPE WEEK LONDON 2016

    Startup Europe Week is an initiative implemented by SEW and promoted by the European Commission and Startup Europe. Startup Manufactory organised five events and coordinated 16 events in total taking place in one week representing the London startup ecosystem. The iniative is spearheaed by Igor Tasic. Startup Europe Week London sold 2,500 tickets and has 8,300 likes on Facebook. It was the most prominent and popular event of all European countries. Click here for the event.
